I consider myself a low grade audiophile and recently set out on the task of purchasing a new bluetooth speaker. I read countless reviews, and even purchased two other speakers that I compared side by side with this speaker, and the Boombox 3 wifi came out ahead by a mile. I'm honestly shocked as to how much sound this speaker is able to produce with the size of its compact footprint! And while I primarily purchased to be an "on the go" bluetooth speaker, the wifi capability makes this a much easier speaker to use daily while at home. Because of this feature, it now lives in my dresser as my bedroom speaker whenever I'm not on the move. I love that I can airplay and have the same music playing through my stereo in the living room and my bedroom simultaneously. And then when I want to tailgate or go camping, I just unplug it and take it with me! As a lifetime purchaser of a different audio company, I'm beyond impressed, and am excited to check out more of JBL's offerings, just because of this speaker.

Quality speaker with advanced features & sounds!

It allows for music listening and/or streaming experiences without interruptions which is vital when entertaining or just leisurely enjoying the speaker. Not having pauses or break ups during use is awesome. The sound quality is pristine and the base sounds sharp. It was exceptional for outside use with background noise not impacting our music. I strongly suggest using the JBL ONE app for the optimal use of all features. The app capabilites allow the speaker to be more user friendly for those not technologically savvy. The design is sturdy & waterproof- a few summertime splashes were ok!

Clarity with BOOM!

With the JBL Boombox 3 Wifi, I was proven wrong. A little larger then most portable speakers and also has a hefty, quality feel to it. The bass ports mainly project from each end of the box which gives your music good " bottom" but without sacrificing clarity or the high end spectrum. Truly a must have product for those who need portability but demand high quality of sound.

Mega speaker with mega sound quality

Before you ever listen to the BOOMBOX 3 You wouldn’t notice the sound quality your missing out on but thanks to Dolby Atmos it really brings the lyrics and beat to life. A Versatile Party Speaker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is such an awesome sounding piece! It has magnificant sound and is SO good looking. I have the black speaker with the gold writing. The packaging is phenomenal as usual with JBL products. They are so protected in their box. I love how easy it is to connect to my phone to access the controls. If I had to give it a con, I would say the weight is a bit much for me. I am a short woman, and I find this BEAST to be a little hefty. I couldn't imagine carrying it for a long distance because of the way I have to hold my arm away from my side to keep it from hitting me. Maybe it's because I'm only 5'3"? I don't know. Ultimately, I weighed it and it does weigh 15lbs. While I've carried items heavier, they just weren't for long distances. So maybe if you don't travel with it? Although, if you've got a muscle man with you, it's gonna be perfect! Just my opinion as a short woman.

I love that it has wifi and i can connect it to my google home speakers and have the same music playing on multiple speakers also i like that when connected to wifi when i get a call on my phone the music doesn't stop like it does when connected to Bluetooth. I wish that all of JBL speakers had the wifi connection..The speaker is sort of heavy, it should of came with a carrying strap.I do think this is a great speaker and it is worth the investment.

Great Speaker and solid build

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall, I really like this speaker. The sound quality is great but does lake a little depth and bass especially considering its size but overall it is pretty great. The WIFI connection is also cool and actually works pretty reliably in my experience. The only thing I was not a huge fan of is that it did not auto connect to the last paired device like JBL speakers normally do. This may be the Wifi setup routine preventing this I cannot say for sure. Also, reconnecting to it through bluetooth when its on doesn't always work and you sometimes have to press the pair button to reconnect. It also takes a bit longer to turn on then normal but that also may be down to the Wifi setup. Overall really great speaker though and feels very durable. I also really like that its battery powered and lasts a decent while. Defiantly long enough for a full day of listening. I will say the only thing that annoyed me is that this also uses its own app compared to JBLs other speakers meaning I now have 4 different JBL apps on my phone. This should really be 1. Thats not this products fault though just something I want to point out.

Unbelievable Sound - Compact Product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While the portable speaker market is relatively new, JBL seems to have hit a home run with the Boombox 3 WiFi. With an array of features from the rich sound and battery life to the compact design and IP67 rating, the Boombox packs a major punch.
The sound is actually quite unbelievable from such a relatively small product (19in wide x 10in wide x 8in tall). The unit packs 1-80W subwoofer, 2-40W midranges, and 2-10W tweeters (reduced when in battery mode) to deliver clear, rich sound in all kinds of media. When on full volume, the sound actually shook the pens and pencils next to it on the desk. Pairing this with the JBL One app on a phone allows the user to control a wide variety of customizations.
Other features adding tremendous value to the Boombox include an IP67 waterproof rating, ~24 hr battery life (it does take a few hours to fully charge), powerbank charging capabilities with a USB-A connection, and PartyBoost connectivity to other JBL capable.
Overall, the Boombox is absolutely worth the investment. It's portability, paired with the jaw-dropping sound and features make this product at the top of it's class for portable speakers.

Der Lautsprecher liefert ein tollen Sound, optisch auch sehr gelungen. Kann ich Wärmsteins weiterempfehlen. Schade finde ich nur das man eingeschränkt ist wenn man Atmos streamen möchte geht das aktuell nur mit tidal. Würde mir wünschen das mit ein Update andere Dienste wie Apple Musik hinzukommt. Ansonsten top Lautsprecher

Wir haben die JBL Boombox 3 seit 4 Wochen in Benutzung und sind begeistert. Die Bedienung ist total einfach, das Verbinden hat super geklappt. Das Design total schön. Der Klang und die Soundqualität ist mega gut, der Bass richtig super. Mit dem Tragegriff kann man die Box überall mit hinnehmen. Der Akku hält mindestens 20 Stunden, eine kleine Lichtleiste gibt Auskunft über die Akkulaufzeit, so dass man rechtzeitig aufladen kann. Richtig super finde ich dass die Boombox zudem noch vor Staub sicher und wasserdicht ist. Unsere Kinder streiten sich schon alle um die Box

Ich habe die Boombox 3 Wifi jetzt seid drei Wochen im Einsatz und muss sagen das ich auch die Boombox 2 mein eigen nenne und tatsächlich einen unterschied bei beiden Lautsprechern merke. Die Boombox 3 Wifi ist in den Höhen um einiges besser und klarer als der Vorgänger, dafür finde ich den Bass beim Vorgänger etwas ausgeprägter. Da die Boombox 3 Wifi auch Dolby Atmos unterstützt aber dies leider nur momentan über den Streaming Dienst TIDAL möglich ist und ich hier kein Abo habe konnte ich dies noch nicht ausprobieren. Ich hoffe das JBL hier noch weitere Streaming Dienste ins Board holt wie z.B Amazon Music. Auch das Gewicht hat zum Vorgänger zugelegt, außerdem kann man die Boombox 3 auch als Powerbank nutzen falls das Smartphone mal eher Schlapp macht als der Lautsprecher selbst. Der Lautsprecher spielt meine Musik für mindestens 20 Stunden ab bevor er wieder ans Stromnetz muss, apropo Strom, wird er über dieses versorgt klingt der Lautsprecher gefühlt 30% lauter und auch der Bass ist stärker wahrnehmbar. Der Sound des Lautsprechers spielt defintiv in der oberen Liga bei tragbaren Akku Lautsprechern,

Tolle Box

Die JBL Boombox 3 WiFi kommt gut verpackt in einem Karton an. Im Lieferumfang ist alles enthalten was man benötigt. Es wird ja dafür geworben, dass man diese, dank Tragegriff gut überall mitnehmen kann. Ganz ehrlich, auf Wanderungen möchte ich die Boombox, mit einem Gewicht von ca. 6,4 kg nicht mitnehmen, es sei denn, ich habe einen Bollerwagen o.ä. dabei. Trotzdem ist sie für den Outdoorbereich dank der Schutzklasse IP67 super geeignet. Die Boombox ist sicher vor Staub und sogar wasserdicht bis zu 1 Meter Tiefe für maximal 30 Minuten. Niesel und Regen können ihr somit nichts anhaben. Und das stimmt wirklich. Ich hatte sie an mehreren Tagen ca. 20 Stunden in Betrieb. Das Aufladen hat knapp sechs Stunden gedauert. Eine kleine Lichtleiste unterhalb des großen JBL-Logos gibt Auskunft über die Akkulaufzeit. Was ich erst sehr spät entdeckt habe, ist die Funktion der Powerbank. Dementsprechend ist die Akkuzeit dann auch weniger. Was den Klang angeht, finde ich, wirken die Mitten verwaschen, die oberen Mitten sind stärker betont, was Stimmen leicht verfälschen kann. Es kommt hier aber auf die Lautstärke an. Die Verbindung zum Bluetooth ist super einfach, der Zugang zum WLAN beschwerlicher. Wir haben uns erstmal einlesen müssten und eine App laden müssen. Die Verbindung mit der App war dann relativ einfach und der Connect mit den Alexa-Geräten auch. Schön ist zudem die einfache Bedienung der Tasten.

Great sound

This is a great product, with excellent sound. The only thing is it takes a while to start, but once it’s connected it’s a really good speaker. Connected it to my google home, me and my wife can both play music on it, changing the music from our phones. It also allows to connect via Bluetooth, you do need to push the button to change the connect method first. Other than that, the sound quality is excellent, though it’s a bit too big, and too much bass to put in a small room, so I wouldn’t suggest taking it with you to the bathroom while you’re having a shower. But this would make a great speaker for outdoor parties, or just for casual listening in the living room. Would definitely recommend this product for anyone that has a lot of outdoor stuff planned, or someone with a big house. 8/10

Wofür der Aufpreis?!

Die Qualität des Lautsprechers ist JBL typisch sehr hochwertig, die Knöpfe sind super verarbeitet und auch die Anschlüsse sicher geschützt, viel Zubehör gibt es nicht im Lieferumfang, lediglich ein Ladekabel.
Die neue JBL One App ist sehr aufgeräumt und der Lautsprecher funktioniert auch nur mit dieser. Hier hat man Möglichkeiten die Musikdienste zu „verknüpfen“ oder was für viele sicher wichtig ist, den Equalizer anzupassen. Mehr kann die App aber auch nicht, brauch sie aber auch eigentlich nicht.
Die Soundqualität worum es hier ja eigentlich, vor allem aber preislich, geht ist hervorragend. Man muss wirklich sagen was aus dem Lautsprecher kommt ist nicht normal, egal was man für ein Genre hört, es klingt alles hervorragend. Was den Lautsprecher aber ausmacht, ist der HiFi/ Dolby Atmos Sound… dieser funktioniert, wie mein Vorredner bereits schrieb, nur mit Tidal Abo. Da es ja eigentlich DIE Funktion ist, welche den Unterschied zur normalen Boombox macht, finde ich den Preis viel zu hoch. Versteht mich nicht falsch, ich liebe das Ding, aber so lange keine weiteren Dienste kommen wie z.B. Apple Music ist die Funktion sinnlos. Ich habe mir Tidal auch angesehen, hört sich natürlich super an, hat aber nicht den Katalog wie andere Dienste.
Ich würde mir wünschen, wenn JBL das schnellstens nachzieht, dann ändere ich auch meine Bewertung gerne. Aufgrund des hohen Preises und der eigentlich fehlenden Funktion kann ich nur 3 Sterne geben.

Great speaker but it needs some updates...

The design and the manufacturing quality of the new Boombox 3 WiFi version is superb and the orange spots on the brand logo are just an eyecatcher. The speaker is indeed very weighty and it's definitely not an item you just move quickly from one to another spot despite of carrying it longer ways. The speaker has the latest Bluetooth 5.3 version, so you get the newest standard. The addition of Wi-Fi comes handy and now can play your audio signal over your Wi-Fi network connection. But there is a catch: When I played some Hi-Res Lossless tracks I noticed there were some hiccups in the connection quality, so no fluent playback unfortunately. Also the connection over Wi-Fi didn't work on older iOS software - the device couldn't find the speaker, despite other WiFi speakers were available. They also removed the Aux-in port on the new WiFi edition...When I try to start playing a song, almost every time the first half second of a song gets cut off. Even when I have the latest software update installed. The battery life is just excellent and the recharge works with no hassle but could take some time. You can even charge your own device over the USB-A port with around 10 W thanks to the included powerbank. The app is fine but for now you can't disable those annoying sound prompts for example when you turn on/off the Boombox. The thing is it now uses the JBL One app, the normal Boombox 3 uses the JBL Portable app, there you could disable the sound prompts easily. The latency is great when you are watching movies or series with your audio over the speaker, so no sound delay in this case. And of course it sounds good in this area. Now let's talk about the sound quality in general. I would say the speaker sounds the best when you are listening to EDM, Hip Hop, Rock and Pop music. The highs are fine, some details in comprehensive songs don't show up unfortunately, the mids are audible and present, but miss some clarity directional, the bass on the other hand is just awesome but I would put it down to around -1 in the EQ settings. The mids and highs around +1, respectively. Then it sound the best in my opinion. 3D Dolby Atmos support is a great additive but no game changer at the moment. It depends on the music record - some songs sound extremely different or even artificially worse. For that price it is just too expensive right now in my opinion and I would only recommend it to people that prefer listening to music at higher volumes and have the option and location to do so. And of course people who want to have a private party. When you are also enjoy listening at lower volume levels, you absolutely can, but don't expect the best balanced sound quality.

How music should sound!

I have been using the boombox 3 Wi-Fi for about a month now, and I have to say it has been a game changer in our house.
First off, the boombox is quite robust, with great materials, and just about the right weight to both make it very easy to carry around, but also feel really stable indoors and outdoors, so it give us the best of both worlds.
The Wi-Fi feature makes it really easy (and almost immediate) to connect to our Spotify playlist. We also use it to watch movies, easily connecting to the tv.
We listen to music on a daily basis and we make little “dance parties” with the kids, and we actually already owned good quality columns, the onyx studio 4, but we have compared them, jumping the same music from one to the other, and we agreed that the boombox feels superior, especially because of the bass sound. We felt like, even dancing and playing to the same songs we were used to, they sounded different, better, so it felt like listening to our favorite songs for the first time again.
Finally, the fact that the battery lasts up to 24h gives enough freedom to enjoy the music cable free in different divisions of our home without the hassle of carrying cables and looking for free power sockets.
The only reason I am rating this 4 stars is because of the price. I feel that for this price it could give something extra, like a separate speaker to allow the immersive experience.

Great but heavy speaker

I like the boombox 3 Wi-Fi quite well for his sound quality and volume which is great for both inside and outside. The new possibility to connect the speaker via Wi-Fi is a real plus. Due to it you don’t have to keep your phone near the device but it can keep playing trough a stable Wi-Fi connection. An extra plus is that when you use it with spotify connect, all connected devices can control what is played on the boombox. Setting up the boombox and it’s W-Ffi-connection is quite easy trough the new JBL-One app. Battery live is also great and lasts up to 24 hours. Only downside on the devise is that it is quite big and even more heavy (probably due to the large battery) this makes the devise less portable. So for me, it is a very nice speaker to use around the house ( if you don’t have to move it a lot) but it is less ideal to take on a trip of a hike due to its size and its weight.

Powerful Speaker!

I love this speaker. I've been using it for about two weeks now, and it's become a part of my daily routine. The quality is top-notch, just what you'd expect from JBL. It's built very robustly, with no creaking or wobbling. It feels like an extremely high-quality product.
Let me tell you about its features: The volume is overwhelming. It delivers such clean sound even at high volumes. WOW. The bass is deep and powerful, perfect for cranking up the volume and getting the party started ;) And if that's not enough, you can always tweak the sound with the equalizer in the app.
For its size, it's surprisingly compact and easy to transport. The Bluetooth connection with my phone is established within seconds.
The best part is its practicality with WiFi, especially when using Spotify. Just turn on the speaker, select it on Spotify, and the music starts playing. Connecting to the WiFi takes a bit longer, but once connected, there are no more interruptions even when I'm a few meters away from the speaker.
It's also great for outdoor use. I always bring it out when I'm grilling, and it has effortlessly handled garden parties.
I highly recommend this speaker!

Extra Features, Better Audio, Love it!!!

I bought this speaker roughly a month ago and I am loving it!
Just as great as the original JBL Boombox 3 but with extra features. I love the Wi-Fi feature, very useful and the audio quality is definitely improved on this one!
